BENEFITING: FIBROMUSCULAR DYSPLASIA SOCIETY OF AMERICA INC
In 2002 my mom was diagnosed with Fibromuscular Dysplasia (FMD), an arterial disease causing abnormal cell development leading to narrowing of the artery (stenosis), dissections (tearing) of the artery, FMD can also produce aneurysms, cause strokes, T.I.A.s, high blood pressure, in some very extreme cases death. It is generally found in arteries supplying blood to the kidneys and brain, but can be found in any and all arteries in the body, and can happen in any body; men, women and children.
My experience with FMD was the scariest thing I have ever been through in my life. But, luckily my mom is a strong woman and is doing much better now thanks to wonderful doctors who understand the disease, and the Fibromuscular Dysplasia Society of America (FMDSA).
The FMDSA now needs our help; they need money in order to keep going. Money to fund 14 patient registries, raise awareness, educate others, and continue research!! If it was not for this great organization hundreds of people would be in the dark about this disease and have nowhere to turn.
I ask you to please donate 10, 20, 50, or 100 dollars, whatever! We need your help! Any dollar amount will make a difference. So please, even if FMD has not directly affected someone you know, it is a real concern and has afflicted many. So please DONATE NOW!
