BENEFITING: TAALUMA PROJECT INC
How can you know what it is like to live in another's shoes without walking in them? This April I will be traveling with 12 other Virginia Tech students to Kenya where we will be working with kids at Bambakofi Academy. Everyday these kids walk 6.5 miles to and from school determined to receive a better education. The challenge is simply this, I will try to walk or run the same distance that these kids do everyday.
The Taaluma Project was created by Virginia Tech students after their amazing experience working with the Bambakofi kids in 2012. In the light of raising money for the Taaluma Project, I will also be training for the Milan Half Marathon this upcoming March. Running every day will now have more meaning because I know that I can help these kids simultaneously. I will be tracking how far I run or walk everyday to see if I have what it takes to walk in these kids' shoes.
The money you donate will go to the furthering of these students' education. Most children in Kenya do not have the resources to continue on from primary school to secondary school. Your donation could give a child the chance for a future. I challenge you even further to walk 6 miles a day for a week. If I'm doing it, you can too!
