Fondo del Sol provided the first national and international traveling exhibits including Roots & Visions (1979-81), Other Gods (1986-87), Cuba-USA (1991-93), Women of Power (1994-1995), and Lois Mailou Jones & Her Students – An American Legacy (1995-1997).
As a Multi-Cultural Center, Fondo del Sol provides internships, creative workshops, artist lectures, language programs, and educational exhibits to celebrate the great contributions these cultures have contributed to the American Mosaic.
Due to the recession and insufficient funds, Fondo del Sol is facing very trying times and will be forced to close the museum if money is not raised. Please donate money to our cause of saving the building, providing funding to properly document and protect our art collection, and for us to continue our artist work shops and educational programs!
Fondo del Sol is located at 2112 R Street, NW. Washington, DC 20008.
