So Wyatt has been vomiting a lot, and he's not eating. The doctor wants to put him on steroids for his EoE, which hopefully will help him. It's See More

THE STORY:

I spent 18 months crying, worrying, running to quick cares, sitting in ER waiting rooms, and making weekly appointments to the pediatrician. Nobody could tell me anything else except I was over worrysome, and "he seems fine, rotate ibuprofen and tylenol" or "apply a&d ointment, it will be fine". WRONG. I can't express to you how wrong each person was, and in some way I don't think it was entirely their fault. After being brushed off so many times, I got frustrated. My first born, my son, was always sick looking, or vomiting, his privates were raw and bloody despite me constantly changing him, airing him out, using creams, etc. My baby was always choking, and coughing. His doctors must have thought I was nuts. I finally switched doctors as I felt there had to be something that could be done. After a few visits and the same complaints, and increase in calls, his new pediatric doctor ordered blood tests and a barium swallow test (that was beyond traumatic and heart breaking for both of us). Results came back, and a nurse called to say Wyatt was allergic to " wheat, eggs, dairy, peanuts, and almonds". So we changed his diet, and I changed mine. We've now seen an allergist, and a gastroenterologist. Wyatt has Eosinophilic Esophagitis due to food allergies. We have epipens, and warning labels everywhere. We were told he has a lot of damage in his esophagus, and I can't help but feel awful. In my gut I knew something was wrong, and I never stopped pushing but I never guessed food allergies. He had been a having reactions since birth.. SO my goal is to raise money for the insurance and supplies needed to reserve the bonny eagle track, to hold a walk event. I am working with the Food allergy research and education (F.A.R.E) organization to promote awareness of the rise in food allergies in america. It sounds like nothing to some, but ask someone with life threatening allergies and I am sure you will feel differently afterwards. There are so many families out there that do not know where to turn, and I'd like to be the one they turn to. I have struggled alone some days with finding recipes, resources, or having someone to talk to. Help me achieve this goal, to help other families.
