I am trying to raise money to host a holiday dinner for the children in the parish of Clarendon, Jamaica. My objective is to cook dinner for 1000 children on the 29th of December. The menu although simple will be just over $6 per person ($6000). It will consist of mixed leaf salad, stewed chicken, rice and Gungo peas, curried goat, yam and dumpling soup. The dinner is only one day but will be an economic stimulate for the days leading up to and the event itself. People will be employed and local families will benefit from me purchasing their chickens. I'm not buying "Best Dressed" or "CB" chickens, the chicken and goat will be sourced from independent small scale growers in the community. I will purchase 395 chickens and 5 goats. I am a certified chef and event producer, this will test my abilities and at the same time provide food and entertainment for the children of an impoverished area. My target of $3000 would only assist in the actual cost to host this event. The rest if not all (depending on the success of this campaign) is coming from my personal expenses. Please take the time and consideration to make a donation to my campaign.
