Goal: We are trying to organize a Not-For-Profit Organization, which will be providing hot cooked meals, resources and guidance to allow for otherwise homeless and disadvantaged Veterans to return to living meaningful and productive lives. How Far Have We Come? Last year alone, out of funds and efforts from the organizer(s), we have been working for over a year on this project. We have referred more than 100 people to agencies such as Veterans Administration, Patriots and Paws for Veterans, Vet's First, and other Veterans Organizations. In the same year, the founder and organizer of this program has cooked, prepared and served over 700 meals to veterans. He has prepared, served and fed Veterans out of a one room studio apartment; as well as donated clothing, showering and hygiene care to some Veterans during holiday and non-holiday periods. Where We Wish To Go: We have obtained help from an accountant, and am currently looking for an Attorney to sit on out proposed board of Trustees. We are going out and purchasing items to stock an upcoming thrift store, which will allow the Organization to become more "Self Sufficient." WE are hopeful that we can open a Thrift store, where all of the proceeds can pay for minimized over-head expenses; which will allow for more funds to go towards benefiting Homeless and Disadvantaged Veterans. We are hopeful that our efforts will allow the Veterans, whom we are looking to serve, the most resources for them to move from disenfranchised to more productive and positive citizens. We are hopeful that we can achieve access to the said group of individuals, to allow them to learn new trades and provide training for them to become self-sufficient. We hope to accommodate this by helping them, through counseling, guidance, and other resources, obtain benefits due them for their service to our country.
