Food for Mali Refugees
Organized by: Charlotte Tamirt
Friends, the Tamasheq people are suffering greatly. They have been driven from their homeland in the Sahara by the Mali army, and they live in refugee camps in surrounding countries. I work with the band Tinariwen on health issues such as infant mortality. One in every ten babies dies before the age of two. But before we can even tackle that issue, we need to make sure the adults are not starving. Food rations were cut by half this week. Each adult has only a bag of rice to last for one month, along with a small amount of flour and oil. They no longer receive corn or sugar. Please helpe to ensure their survival so that we can start to consider a better life. My life is full of happiness in part because of the friendships I have with the Tamasheq people. I want to give some of this happiness back to them. Please listen to Tinariwen and get inspired to help our new friends.
Your donations are 100% tax deductible to our charity, Desert Health Oasis.
