Here's the deal - I debated for a long time whether I wanted to participate in the Jazz Half Marathon. Here's the list of reasons why I didn't want to: I run slower than a sloth, I've got horrible knees, the heat & humidity, I'm on vacation...do I even need to go on? But when I found out that this run was an opportunity to fundraise for the Cancer Program and NOLA's Children's Hospital none of those reasons mattered anymore because I only needed one reason to run that was more important than myself. The Cancer Program at Children's Hospital in New Orleans doesn't just focus on treatment and research, it also boasts an extensive multidisciplinary team for medical and emotional support and the Treatment After Cancer and Late Effects Center helps children recover from the devastating long-lasting effects of cancer treatment. The providers at Children's Hospital are dedicated to helping childhood cancer survivors and their families stay well. Please sponsor my sweat with your dollars and donate to this amazing program.
