For treatment Golev Roman
Organized by: Denis Golev
Roman Golev, 2 years old, Moscow. Retroperitoneal neuroblastoma, stage 4S, high risk, N-myc amplification. Recurrence with brain metastasis. Roman is an active, jolly and bubbly child, and unless you know he has been bravely fighting neuroblastoma for the most of his life, it is not easy to tell. The boy has been through a lot of rounds of chemo, several surgeries and also underwent a bone marrow transplant in Moscow. His family thought the cancer had been beaten and enjoyed a year of normal life, until the recurrence happened. Unfortunately Russian specialists have already done everything they could do, so they have been offered help at Griefwals University Hospital in Germany. Roman is now receiving a complex efficient treatment and keeps fighting for his life. There are MIBG radiotherapy and another bone marrow transplant from one of the parents in plans. The cost of the treatment is €392,000. The part of the treatment is MIBG radiotherapy which is €65,000 (about $72,150). This is a huge bill for his family. Everything they had is already gone towards covering the previous bill of €217,000. Yet despite the financial difficulties they don’t give up and hope that with a help from the people who care their kid will live.
