BENEFITING: PENCILS OF PROMISE INCORPORATED
This year I am giving up my birthday in hopes to raise money for at least 20 children to have an education for an entire year! What does that mean? 25 dollars educates one child, do the math and our goal is 500.00! We spend 25.00 EASILY on Starbucks, fast food, or whatever else tickles your weekly fancy.
My birthday wish this year is that anyone who reads this will challenge themselves to donate at least 25.00 to children in need. For information on this organization go to http://www.pencilsofpromise.org/who-we-are/our-story. For you charity skeptics out there check out the (our financials section) to see exactly where your money is going.
This isn't a chain letter, and I'm not going to say if you don't forward this on you'll get a year of bad luck. But if you do read this, take it up on yourself to pass it on and give children in poverty the same chance we got as children!
Pencils of Promise partners with local communities to build schools and increase educational opportunities in the developing world. They focus on early education, high potential females and empowering a new generation of passionate young leaders to create profound good.
So far they've built 160 schools with 36 ongoing builds and 14 upcoming builds in Guatemala, Ghana, Laos, and Nicaragua!
