BENEFITING: Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank
Grow-A-Dollar for the Harvest
Dear Friends of having Regular and Nutritious Meals,
On Sunday, February 28th, our Pastor, the Reverend Debbie Saxe of the First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, personally handed each member of the Congregation a one dollar bill with the charge to go make a difference. That charge, I am taking seriously and therefore I have started this fundraising effort that will directly benefit the Akron Canton Regional Foodbank. The Akron Canton Regional Foodbank recently launched its annual Harvest for Hunger campaign to raise $1,200,000.00 and 100,000 pounds of food. Those figures are staggering to one individual, but we can each take comfort that one dollar will provide 4 meals or 1.2 pounds of food to help ease the significant amount of hunger in our communities. If we each add our own dollars, the numbers of those that can receive help through the 500 plus food pantries and shelters in the 8 county area that are served by the Akron Canton Regional Foodbank, will be ensured. Tell your family, friends and colleagues that this is a great opportunity to help guarantee that food will be available for those who do not have, but certainly need, regular and nutritious meals. Hunger is not an option! Please see the Akron Canton Regional Foodbank page for more details on their mission and services. Their efforts are worthy of our contributions. The minimum contribution is $10.00 and there is a small fee added to process the transaction. The goal is $5,000.00 which will provide 20,000 meals!!
