My name is Teresa Carbone. I am writing this on behalf of my father, Fortunato Carbone, in hopes of finding him some relief from his battle with Parkinson's Disease. He is 61 years old and was diagnosed about 4 years ago. Since then his condition has progressively worsened. In the recent years his ability to walk and move has slowed tremendously, he has no muscle strength in his arms or legs. This condition is effecting his ability to enjoy his grandchildren and watch them grow. Some days are so bad that he struggles with everyday life such as dressing himself, getting up from the couch, walking and now the ability to eat and swallow foods. My family and I have tried everything to help him. Unfortunately, nothing has worked. We have tried acupuncture, physical therapy, medications, chiropractic methods and so on. He continues to worsen before our eyes. Recently I have been researching a procedure called stem cell treatment. This treatment will rejuvenate him by injecting stem cells to revitalize the nerve cells in his brain that no longer produce the chemical dopamine. I am here on this site as my only resort for raising money for this life saving procedure. This treatment will cost us $20,000 and the most recent appointment that is available is January 23rd 2016. We would have to put a $10,000 deposit before then. My family can not afford this amount. I am trying to raise as much money to help pay for the procedure the flight and the two day stay in San Diego, we are from New York. My family and I will be forever grateful for your gernerous donation. We can all come together to help one another and there are no words to explain my gratitude for your donation. You will be helping my father to regain his life and start enjoying it again. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
