Through ongoing activities, our Resource Walk-In Center provides former foster youth ages 18-24 wth the tools necessary to achieve self-sufficiency and life prosperity. Program activities include Education Support - youth who lack a diploma, GED or scoring under an 8th grade litercy/numeracy level will be provided educational resources. Vocational Skills Training - youth who are interested in vocational training are screened to determine the type of vocational skills development program they are interested in attending. Job Readiness Workshop - this 72 hour workshop is designed to prepare youth for employment by providing soft skills training with modules on professionalism, workplace conflict resoution, workplace safety, financial management, resume writing and job search and interview techniques. And Entrepreneuship Training - this training is facilitated by a certified entrepreneurship trainer and will cover baic business concepts. Each youth that completes the program will have a bonafide business plan and is eligible to compete for start-up money for their business.
