Foster Care Support Foundation's mission is to strengthen the ability of foster families to meet the needs of their foster children by implementing a community-based resource and education that can decrease the need for institutionalized care. Foster Care Support Foundation (FCSF) serves newborns through teens placed in foster care homes in every county in Georgia by providing free clothing, toys, infant equipment, school supplies, and other basic care items. In addition, FCSF serves teens who have aged out of foster care until they graduate from college and relative caregivers who take in children to keep them out of the foster care system. Although foster parents receive a stipend to provide for foster children, the allowance does not cover the cost of all basic needs. In addition, thousands of relative caregivers (e.g., grandparents raising grandchildren) struggle financially because they receive little to no assistance. The resources provided by FCSF help families remain financially stable and provide basic care items for vulnerable children who have been displaced through no fault of their own.
