Help feed children in Western Washington who are hungry this summer!
During the school-year some families count on free or reduced-price lunches for their children, so summer means they will need to stretch even further to put food on the table. For the 350,000 kids in Western Washington who rely on the school programs, summer can be a difficult time. Only 11% of these children have access to similar meals in the summer.
With your support, Food Lifeline is working to change that. Programs such as Kids Café provide healthy, kid-friendly snacks and meals to summer programs where these children live, learn and play. Many families are turning to their food bank, meal programs or shelters in order to put food on the table for their kids and we can do our part to help stock their shelves with nutritious food.
Your contributions to this food drive will go directly to Food Lifeline during the first week of August.
How Food Lifeline Helps
Food Lifeline gathers excess food from businesses and individuals, which it then distributes to over 275 food banks, meal programs, and shelters. Food Frenzy is an annual drive that focuses on providing summer meal programs for kids.
Our goal: no empty lunch sacks!
