Through the Rwanda School Project, Foundation of Hope Ministries addresses the challenge of reducing overall drop out rates increasing the overall completion rate and improving girls’ educational performance through launching a high-quality day and boarding school for 200 students in the area outside of Kigali, Rwanda.
Fifty-seven percent of the population of Rwanda lives below the poverty line of US $1 a day. Rural children in Rwanda, especially, are deprived of some fundamental rights including nutrition, education and safe drinking water.
Foundation of Hope Ministries has been working since 2007 to assist orphans of the Gatumba Massacre and other at-risk children with educational opportunities through assistance with tuition and other school expenses.
The Rwanda School Project will allow a greater opportunity to monitor the progress and growth of all students enrolled at the school while continuing the outreach project of tuition assistance. The boarding program will additionally ensure that orphans and other especially at-risk students receive adequate nutrition and care after classes in a safe child-centered nurturing environment.
The project budget includes land purchase, construction of six classrooms, sports facilities, playground, kitchen, a chapel and living facilities for boarding students. One year of salaries for high-quality teachers and caring staff are included in the budgetary figures as well as food and sports equipment and other annual expenses.
Foundation of Hope Ministries invites you to partner with the Rwanda School Project in meeting the physical and spiritual needs of refugee children through transformational community development.
