The New York Foundling wrote -
Youth in foster care face many challenges, including personal trauma, frequent home and school moves, and a lack of stable parental support. As a result of these challenges, their educational outcomes can be dire: In New York City, more than half of all ninth graders in foster care are held back each year, and studies suggest that only 3% will eventually graduate from college with a bachelor’s degree. The New York Foundling is working to change that with specialized educational supports, 1:1 tutoring and mentoring, technology training and tools, educational advocacy, and more - but we need your help!
Support this fundraiser to help our littlest scholars starting out in pre-K, our young adults moving into a college dorm for the first time, and all the youth in between to succeed this school year!
