This is an invitation. Let me tell you why.
Have you ever heard a story that hit a chord with you? Or, have you ever shared a story that may hit a chord with others? That, if told would have given a unique identity to a culture and race that are rich and colorful?
Let me tell you a story…..
For over two decades, FilAm ARTS has engaged diverse publics in cultural arts as a means to empower and cultivate individual and community relevance to mainstream America. Now on its 23rd year, the association is dedicated to the advancement of Filipino American Arts and Culture and produces the iconic annual Festival of Philippine Arts and Culture, otherwise known as FPAC. This year’s festival is moving its home to the beautiful Grand Park, Los Angeles, Oct. 4th and 5th.
Noted for its core programs namely; Pilipino Artists Network, Eskuwela Kultura, Buy Pinoy and SAYSAY, it flourishes with the generous support of the community and the sheer determination to sustain it.
There are many stories about the contribution of labor workers, artists, the wave of immigrant professionals, of military service men and women, academicians, community organizers and their impact on U.S. life and culture.
Did you know that there are many other similar accounts to tell but were never told? That, if there was better cultural awareness or common ground, such stories and works would have been archived or preserved?
It is for this reason that we invite you to help us kickoff our 23rd annual FPAC by joining us at our VIP Reception on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bradley Tower, Los Angeles City Hall, 26th Floor, 200 North Spring Street.
The tower, rich in architectural impressions is the perfect setting when we celebrate Filam ARTS annual awards ceremony honoring the outstanding supporters and community leaders in various fields of excellence.
Heavy appetizers, host bar and entertainment are also staples for the evening. Your generous contribution of $100 is tax deductible and will allow you to partake in an evening when we come together in support of advancing and sustaining a heritage and its cultural programs.
