EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
Hi Family and Friends!
Welcome to my Marathon Fundraising Page!
This year I am training to run the 2015 Boston Marathon as a member of Team Framingham. Come April 20th, I will be running 26.2 miles from Hopkinton to Boston, but I can't do it alone!
All of us at Team Framingham are raising funds for local Framingham charities. I am honored to run for the Framingham History Center this year. As a third grade teacher at Stapleton Elementary School in Framingham, I teach the history of Framingham to my students as one of our content units in Social Studies. We take a field trip to the History Center each spring and experience our town's rich history. The staff and volunteers are amazing! They truly give my students a rich experience of their own town and make them feel proud to be a resident! At the History Center, I took a Civil War course this summer with teachers from around the Commonwealth. I gained a wealth of knowledge about incredible individuals that left their mark in history... and they lived right in my backyard! Having been raised in Framingham and being an educator in town, I feel that this opportunity to give back is a special one for me.
Speaking of special...I'm running in honor of my mother, Joann MacIsaac, a long- time Framingham resident. She has fought cancer head on this year. She is a survivor. She is my inspiration. She is my rock, my hero. In addition to my amazing mother, I am running for all our loved ones who are survivors, fighters of, and in memory of those we have lost to cancer.
My goal is to raise $2,500.00 by race day. Now it's your turn. Please consider making a donation. Remember, no gift is too small (or too LARGE!)
I hope you'll visit my page from time to time, especially as race day approaches. Please don't be shy about forwarding my site to anyone you may think will want to donate to this worthy cause. Also, contact me if you prefer to make a cash or check donation. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!
