"The Finish Line" is just one stop on a journey to something or somewhere. Our journey started Friday the 13th, November 2009. Fran crossed many finish lines in her lifetime and we hope to make her as proud as we have been of her.
A not-for profit organization to honor my cousin Fran is in progress. It will be established to honor her life, her passion for family, her will to thrive with Crohn's Disease, and to ultimately learn more about what took her life - Splenic Artery Aneurysms. The funds will be intended for education, awareness, research, and resources and support for children left behind.
As we await a non-profit charitable designation, we are collobarating with someone who lived through a very similar experience and whom's visions and goals we share. Sabrinas Foundation was set up to eliminate maternal death of pregnant and post-partum women due to vascular health issues. Vascular health failures are the primary cause of death for pregnant and post-partum mothers claiming over 500,000 mothers a year.
