Bad days are one thing, but have you ever had one of those months?
My mom, Betsy, and I definitely have. Within a matter of twenty days, our lives went from the usual paycheck-to-paycheck lifestyle to an everyday hustling nightmare: pawning this, selling that, hosting so many yardsales I'm sure we could get a small business license right now. However, between all the barters and business deals, there still isn't enough, and with the recent diagnosis of my mother's lung cancer and my job loss, I'm running out of options.
I've sold and pawned anything and everything of value that I had. I had to overdraft my account to pay for our electricity to be reconnected--oh did I mention we lived without lights for 2 weeks?--Now the landlords are knocking down our door and serving us court papers for evictions. All while I'm trying to process that my mother has been diagnosed with small cell lung cancer, one of the most aggressive lung cancers there is. I want to give her the best chance of remission, and I can't do that if I have no money, negative money, in fact. I want to help her eat healthier, and do all that is in my power to give her a healthier, longer life.
I did some dirty math and 6,000 should be enough to get us out of the negative hole and keep the bills at bay until our lease is up in August. It should help pay for some of her medication as well as healthy foods to avoid infections and other illnesses. Not to mention it would be a big help on gas because driving to the hospital 5 days a week has been a bit of a challenge recently.
Any help is welcome and much appreciated. I am grateful for any cent I get. If you would like to know more, please message me!
