Chief Fred Fletcher will be getting in the take in support of LaPaz.
Fred Fletcher joined the Austin Police Department in 1994 and June 12, 2014 he was sworn in as the Chief of Police for the Chattanooga Police Department. Throughout his career, he has focused on making Austin a safer city.
In his previous position, he commanded 218 sworn personnel including patrol, investigative, undercover street crimes and community policing units, in a region of Austin with a population of 170,000 citizens. Austin is the fourth largest city in Texas with a total population of over 800,000. He worked on Austin’s drug market intervention, a strategy based on the Ceasefire Initiative model that was also used for Chattanooga’s violence reduction initiative.
In his leadership position, he implemented community outreach programs to improve the relationships between police officers and neighborhoods. His hands-on approach to leadership has built bridges both inside and outside of the police force and his dedication to crime reduction has produced significant results.
Chief Fletcher is married to the love of his life, Paige, and promises that she is truly the best part of the deal in them coming to Chattanooga.
