THE STORY:

Matt Derda wrote -

Fred Leeds was an improviser with the Smarty Pants Theater Company in Dayton, OH. He was the self proclaimed world's oldest improviser at the age of 71. In 2007 Fred was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis and passed away in December of that year.

Smarty Pants put on a benefit show in January of 2008 in Fred's memory to raise money to find a cure for the disease. In 2010 the Smarty Pants Theater Company split up to go conquer projects all over the country.

In 2011 Smarty Pants will be reuniting to perform another benefit for Fred. Please help us raise money to find a cure for this disease. Pulmonary Fibrosis robbed us of the funny that Fred brought to the world. Let's get vengeance for him!

Fred was such a giving and warm scene partner that it's amazing he didn't start improvising until he was 69 years old. His death was hard for anyone who knew him to bear and we miss him terribly. 8 years ago
