Free Flannagan's Freak Flag 2016
Organized by: Natalie Mal
Hi All! A dear and close friend of ours, Michael Flannagan, has recently received unfortunate news – Michael, who’s served in the U.S. Navy for many years and who went through all the appropriate channels to get granted time off To attend Burning Man, has just found that the Navy has a mandatory test that needs to be taken on September 1st – AKA Thursday of the Burn week. We’re all patriots here, BUT WHAT THE HELL, NAVY! Let us live! For those of you who don’t know, Michael is Naked Rainbow camp’s resident Sailor, all-around useful dude to have around, and brings chill-ass vibes to boot (The vibes are chill, not the ass. You’ll have to ask his lovely wife Yasmin about his ass-vibes. Which you won’t be able to do if he can’t make it to the Burn!) To Michael – as it is with all of us – the Burn isn’t just a party. It’s a place for him to flow, to build, to lead, to love, to share, and to be free. It’s his home. More importantly, though, he is a huge part of Naked Rainbow and if you were at Naked Rainbow’s year of de-burginization, then you were probably directly or indirectly influenced by Mike’s generosity. Whether it was him sharing a Ballast Point Sculpin IPA with you (a beer as delicious as that is like holy water on the Playa!) or him letting you play with his poi even though you’re terrible at poi, Mike is part of the Naked Rainbow magic. He’s put a ton of money and effort into this year’s Burn as well – he’s supposed to drive a cargo van up, he built many of the hexayurts, and he contributed significantly to the camp build and design. We’re reaching out to you today, because EFF DA SYSTEM. Michael is going to bust a badass mission – instead of not going to the burn, he’ll be leaving Black Rock City mid-Burn, traversing back to San Diego, and TAKING THAT DAMN TEST! Then, he’s coming back to the Playa, because it’s where he belongs; from there, we’ll shower him with fairy dust and gratitude for the rest of the week! Please help support Michael in EFF’ing DA SYSTEM by donating to help with the costs of travel to and from the Playa. If he doesn’t come, we’ll be like babes lost in the wood. SERIOUSLY! No amount is too big or too small and anything to support our swashbuckling sailor is much appreciated!
