BENEFITING: Freedom For Immigrants
Oscar Ortiz is an elderly man who has been detained in Yuba County Jail for over eight months, where he is not getting the medical care he needs.
Oscar was born in El Salvador and moved to the United States over a quarter century ago. He lives in Fresno and works as a landscaper. He is seeking asylum, but has been unjustly detained for over eight months despite health concerns. Last year, he suffered a serious head injury from being hit by a car while biking to work. He also needs treatment for hypertension and diabetes.
On May 1, 2017, Oscar's immigration judge granted him a $3,000 bond. Oscar's parents are no longer alive and he has no other family members to help him pay the bond amount. But together, we can raise the bond money to free him!
