FREE Pantry Project
Organized by: Sarah Mohan
What if we started to build small outdoor pantries (like the Little Library movement) but instead had people donate non-perishable food items, clothing, baby items, toiletries, and miscellaneous household items. Wouldn't this reduce petty crime for drug money? Everyone is free to take what they need and leave whatever they have extra of.
The project would consist of building these small pantries, and design trucks (similar to the Good Humor man) that distributed household items like soap, toothbrushes, baby items, clothing and food.
What if there were mobile bathrooms and showers in these trucks/vans or buses? Wouldn't it make sense to convert unused sheds into locked storage facilities of goods, stocked with nutritious non-perishable foods, shelves containing personal and household items like clothes, blankets...
Think about it...have you or a loved one ever faced homelessness? Poverty? Drug addiction?
I'm looking to recruit handymen and carpenters to construct such small pantries, artisans to design and paint, donations of resources such as old buses and vans, donations and drives to collect clothing, blankets, office/school supplies, canned and boxed food, baby items, kitchen and bathroom items like toothbrushes and soap....
... creating JOBS for those who can't find work such as recently released prison inmates, homeless men and women, and mentally disabled individuals... jobs may include driving such vehicles, transporting such goods, sorting and organizing, social media and marketing jobs.
If we work together we will achieve this and make a dramatic difference in this world!
