The Free2Scream Project was an idea that came to me during the height of a very hard time in my life. As a survivor of sexual abuse, I know firsthand how it feels to be exploited and used for someone's personal gratification, shaken and bruised from  their need to show power, and what it's like to lose yourself in their control. From the time I was 10 years old I have had to learn to be strong on my own. My sexual abuse story begins at that tender age and unfortunately, does not end until 15 years later. Throughout this daily war within and my silent suffering, I decided that my pain was going to mean something. If it only means I can help ONE person in this world, I will take it. Each and every victim is worth helping, but in my life if I only help one, I will feel as if my pain served a purpose. This life, as they say, is "too short." Over half of my life so far has gone to a man and his demons. Demons he could not control and demons I could not fight alone. To me, it seems, that has to be worth something. I have decided it is worth sharing. My experience is worth spreading, in hopes someone else who is in an abusive situation can find the same courage within themselves that I did. The courage to end their abuse. So many young people are abused and have to go on suffering in their "hell" alone. Some even try to speak up, they try to tell someone... only to be failed by the very people put in place to protect them. This cycle will never break unless we take a stand. It all begins with someone. Women continue to be used, raped, beaten, and mentally imprisoned because they see no other way out, are convinced they have no other option, do not realize their experience is abuse, or worse feel they deserve their abuse. The lack of control over their own lives, bodies, and minds leads them into the saddest cycle of this world. Some turn to drugs or alcohol, self harm, promiscuity, and some even justify the permanent solution of suicide, to be their only way out. I have a vision to help change that. Some people feel they don't have a voice, some voices aren't loud enough... I hope to be their voice that is. I have learned that sometimes being strong for yourself means being strong for others and subconsciously letting yourself heal from their progress. It is human nature to strive to fit in, and in the world of an abuse survivor, a current victim, or someone who has only experienced the mere threat of it.... fitting in is something we rarely ever feel. Here you can fit in. Here you can learn your options, learn how to be strong, have courage, stand for what's right, and finally feel like you belong. HERE YOU CAN FIND YOUR VOICE.... AND ULTIMATELY YOURSELF. We are all Free2Scream
