Ainsley's Angels is thrilled to help ensure Chris can soon roll with the wind in his very own freedom push chair! With your generosity, we are certain this can happen soon. As the father of two very special girls that race together with me, I know that the positive energy surrounding the start line as we prepare to be included and "roll with the wind", and the normalcy of the family, is a therapy like no other.
Here is a note from Chris' mother:
Chris was finishing up college when he was injured in an automobile accident. He had a bruise in his brain stem that meant recovery would be slow. He slowly regained consciousness and over the last couple of years has begun to be alert and aware of his surroundings. One of his greatest needs presently is social interaction and getting out more. While he was still in the hospital I began running just to stay active. A few months later I ran my first 5K and was hooked. I have had the privilege of taking him to some races with me but it's limited because of his regular chair. The course has to be "just right." Having a Freedom Push Chair would mean we could get out more together and he could participate in more races with me. It would, as the name implies, mean much more freedom for both of us.
YES, YOU CAN...donate 20 or 50 dollars right now to ensure the thrill of rolling with the wind and crossing a road race finish line!
