THE STORY:

This mans name is Thanongsi Sorlangkoun or most notably known as Mr. T. He's the founder of Vang Vieng Organic Farm(Lao's first organic farm) and Equal Education For All(A Laotian Organization that provides free Education). He's also a very active community leader and sustainable tourism advocate in Vang Vieng, a breathtaking town where tourism has unfortunately turned into a drug induced free-for-all that caters to the needs of snobby youth that are on holiday. On the 3rd week of May, Mr. T was driving his truck to show a colleague of mine one of the new schools he recently opened when suddenly, a motorbike that was driving recklessly and too quickly smashed into the side of his truck. Mr. T and my colleague were banged up but not even close to as seriously as the 2 who were on the motorbike were. The two boys were rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, one of the boys passed away last week due to his injuries while the other remains in the hospital. The deceased boys parents happened to be rich and corrupt, so acting out of frustration and anger, headed to the local police station where they paid the police off to change reports and say the accident was Mr. T's fault when it obviously wasn't. That same day, police arrested Mr. T in front of his co-workers and family at his farm for what could be crimes like wreckless driving or vehicular manslaughter although the police have yet to mention what he actually did yet. The bail set is very high, making it impossible for friends and family of him to potentially bail him out. As some of you know, I'm working in Vang Vieng to promote sustainable and community-based ecotourism by working with people like Mr. T, who's supposed to be my project lead. Mr. T doesn't stand a chance against a rich family in a corrupt court system so his only option is the following, getting bailed out. The bail will be paid and that will be it. He can return home to his two beautiful daughters(12 & 14 years old) & his wife, to the organic farm that he founded, to the schools he built that are providing free education to children who wouldn't normally be able to afford one and to a community that needs a lot of help in which I'm waiting for him with open arms so we can do what we planned to. Turning this beautiful town into a place where the people grow together as they want to with tourism instead of growing apart because of it. I want to crowd-fund the bail money for Mr. T as quickly as possible because I think we can all agree that this man deserves not be behind bars but with the latter I just mentioned.
