FREE online LIVE GED, Pre-GED classes
Organized by: Kim Bresnahan
I believe that education is the key to help wipe out poverty and the violence it can bring. We are based in the Chicago area but are able to hold online LIVE classes world wide. Specifically in the Chicago south side area where violence has been rampid, I think having the opportunity to go to school anywhere there is an internet connection and feel empowered would be a tremendous thing. Children are most precious but so are our adults. They are the ones teaching the children around them. To be able to access a FREE education is paramount to success. Students would need to apply and show they are willing to do the work but they would have the opportunity! Statistics in the US alone show without question the effect of education (literacy) on our economy, family violence, drug use and incarceration. I have been running my school for 10 years and do not have the funding to get the word out so that we can offer free classes to as many adults as possible. Khan Academy is wonderful but does not allow students the personalized help so many need. Self esteem building is a key ingredient and is a huge part of our program. We want to offer FREE classes live and online to as many as we can. One of our teachers is homeless. We must provide a great education and also help great teachers to keep working and be able to feed themselves. We believe that it is never too late to change and grow. We believe that helping adult students will in turn help their families and children. We would like out school to be open to any adult who is willing to learn and change to a positive bright future. This is such a needed program and we have the technology to do this, please donate if you are able to. Every dollar you send will go toward free classes and we are able to start right away. We can continue with our goal so that we can have 2 teachers and the money to market online and in cities across the country so people can find us. Please help us change the lives of thousands. Thank you.
