Owen is very fortunate to be part of the Riverside Hawks, an inner-city program focused on education and athletics (see mission statement below). His fourth grade team won the National Championships last year! Owen's coach and teammates are truly special, both for their athleticism and character.
There is a fundraiser this coming Monday to help his team raise money for their upcoming season. The funds will be used for equipment, uniforms, tournament fees, etc.
Here's how it works
Player Directions: Each player will take 25 free throws. The goal is to get people to pledge an amount for each free throw that you make.
Sponsor Directions: After players have taken their free throws, they will each receive a letter from there coach stating how many shots they have made, so that they can collect the pledges.
Example: John has an uncle named Michael. Michael agrees to pledge $5 for each free throw that John makes. John makes 10 out of 25 free throw shots. Michael then owes $50.
FYI, Owen's free throw percentage is not really at NBA levels...more like 40-50%--on a good day.
Thanks for supporting the Riverside Hawks!
