Located in San Luis Obispo, California at the award winning, not-for-profit French Hospital Medical Center, the Hearst Cancer Resource Center (HCRC) is a one-of-a-kind resource on the Central Coast for those living with cancer and their families, where all services are provided at no cost.
The HCRC provides supportive and educational services necessary for cancer patients to understand their disease, tolerate treatment, and maintain dignity and quality of life throughout all aspects of their cancer experience. The HCRC houses the latest information on cancer treatment options, nutrition and stress reduction. Oncology professionals staff the Center and include a Nurse Navigator, who provides patients with invaluable services by guiding, advocating, and supporting cancer patients through their cancer journey, from diagnosis and treatment through aftercare.
Since opening its doors in 2008, HCRC has experienced more than 42,000 visits and contacts from cancer patients and family members, as well as many community organizations. The center hosts a variety of programs, including everything from laughing classes, to nutrition lectures, to yoga. We are dedicated to serving patients and their families, ranging from those newly diagnosed with cancer, in treatment, in recovery, and survivors. For more information about HCRC programs, please visit the HCRC website.
As part of a not-for profit, community hospital, the HCRC depends on the support of donors, big and small. All donations are processed by the French Hospital Medical Center Foundation. Thank you for your support!
