Friend A Vet helps United States Veterans reintegrate back into the same society they risk their lives defending. For war Veterans, coming home is not easy. It is an experience that is incredibly difficult to understand and describe. Before we understand what a returning military servicemen experiences when they come home, we have to know what they go through when they are abroad.
The hard truth is that most civilians don't realize, nor pay much attention to the transition of our military men and women when they come home. Coming back is not enough to be considered a successful mission in serving their country, especially if they have no home to come back to due to stresses and dysfunction their families have endured caused by serving their country.
Friend A Vet employs Veterans, is counseled by Veterans, and builds programs with Veterans. Friend A Vet takes the approach of befriending all service members and Veterans in a effort to prevent, intervene, and correct issues such as drug abuse, homelessness, poverty, and dealing with Post traumatic stress disorder (P.T.S.D).
