BENEFITING: FRIENDS OF BUCKHORN STATE PARK INC
The Buckhorn State Park established in 1971 is rapidly expanding and quickly becoming one of Wisconsin's largest State Parks. Each year thousands of visitors enjoy our facilities for both sport and recreation. Over the years the devastating effects of Oak wilt and jack pine worm have fundamentally transformed the landscape by killing thousands of tree's. As the campgrounds continually expand the need to provide firewood to our visitors has grown exponentially, unfortunately with the growing threat of the emerald ash borer spreading in our area, visitors are no longer able to bring firewood into the park from outside a 10 mile radius. By purchasing a wood processor we would be able to re-purpose all of our dead tree's into low cost firewood for our visitors with any proceeds going toward other park improvements.
