BENEFITING: PRAYERS FROM MARIA FOUNDATION
“Children with cancer are like candles in the wind who accept the possibility that they are endanger of being extinguished by a gust of wind from nowhere and yet, they flicker and dance to remain alive, their brilliance challenges the darkness and dazzles those of us who watch their light.” – Author unknown
The Friends of Melana Chlldren’s Glioma Cancer Foundation was established in honor and memory of Melana Matson, who lost her life to glioma cancer at the age of nine. Our hope is to raise funding to support desperately-needed childhood glioma cancer research so that no child, no family or community ever has to experience what Melana and her loved ones did again.
Glioma cancer is inoperable and incurable. More research for glioma cancer is desperately needed. Only four percent of the National Cancer Institute’s annual budget is dedicated to children’s cancer research.
The Friends of Melana Foundation and the Prayers from Maria Foundation have partnered and pooled their resources to provide grant funding for the most promising children’s glioma cancer research. Progress is being made. Recent research funded by the foundations has helped improve how glioma cancer can be studied. Please help us build on this momentum by making a gift to the Friends of Melana Children’s Glioma Cancer Foundation today.
