We did it!

Thirty years ago, the Rouge River in southeast Michigan was one of the dirtiest rivers in the country, flowing thick with oil and clogged with sewage. Friends of the Rouge came to the rescue, organizing thousands of volunteers to clean it up.
Friends of the Rouge engages people with the river, leading cleanups, restoration projects, water quality testing and workshops to teach people how to take care of this much maligned urban river as we nurture it back to life.
