From the Riverbed to Rehab and beyond!
Organized by: cindy villaescuza
Hello! My name is Cindy. I'm truly grateful to God that I'm alive today. After struggling with an alcohol and an addiction problem for years I found myself living in the San Diego riverbed. I was so hopeless and I thought I would never see my family and beautiful daughters again. As difficult as it was I know that if I hadn't of gone through what I have been through down there and survived, then I wouldn't have formed a loving relationship with God today and I wouldn't be grateful for every breathe that I take. I spent 15 months at a wonderful women's residential facility and have now moved on to an awesome faith based sober living home. I have been clean and sober now for almost 16 months and I can say that I'm genuinely happy. I have a wonderful relationship with my family now. I have been successfully employed for 1 year at an amazing school where I have an opportunity on a daily basis to help students that need extra assistance. My biggest priority in life now is to fulfill the purpose God has set for me today, and that is to help my brothers and sisters out there still suffering. My goal is to raise a little bit of money to purchase a vehicle. Thank you for taking the time and reading a little bit about my story. God Bless!
