For those who know me, you know I never turn down a challenge! For years I have been saying I want to bike the 18-mile length of Long Beach Island, New Jersey where I go with my family every summer and the Learning Web is giving me the perfect opportunity to finally achieve this goal while supporting a great cause!
As a passionate supporter of The Learning Web’s work, my honor fraternity, Phi Sigma Pi is working to Fuel The Learning Web Spark! The Learning Web’s mission is to assist young people on their journey to adulthood by sparking a passion, connecting them with an adult role model, helping them learn how to live on their own and believe in themselves, growing a vision for their future, helping them evolve into valued members of our community. For over 41 years, The Learning Web has been helping youth make a successful transition from adolescence to adulthood. Assisting over 11,500 youth—3,000 of these homeless youth—its participants have developed valuable skills that support them as they find their place in today’s complex world. In this fundraiser, we have each created a personal challenge and a fundraising goal. We are asking friends, family and colleagues to acknowledge the importance of identifying and fulfilling personal goals by making donations to The Learning Web and thus supporting Tompkins County youth as they explore and achieve their personal challenges, dreams, goals, and passions.
