BENEFITING: Boys & Girls Clubs of America
Celebrate life by letting a child's voice is heard through writing and performing poetry lyrics out loud. We all foster dreams that should be shared. Writing is an outlet for communicating emotions through beautiful words of poetry. Imagination is what builds character amongst the fictional world and contempoarary world. The purpose of fiction is rleative to fantasy. It is how society dictates its values and interprets its dreams so visually we can imagine what is relative to social values. The Onew Who Walk Away from Omelas is a fiction story that travels through time. The theme of the story is built on the real world and the imaginary world. Metaphorically, the story walks away from the imagination to face the real world. The story is a eurphoric for the imagination creates a surreal world of alusion where everything is happy. The imagination is an exterior of hope. The setting is in a utopia where there is forrest where everything is green and plush. it is from imagination that becomes invention. We as humans become beside ourselves through dreams that place us in an atomosphere where life is external to our own. It is not intentional. Imagination is a measurement of purpose. It is okay to dream. I would like to ignite a program of the arts in spoken word poetry with the children in the Boys and Girls club to share their poems to an open audience of their peers and senior citizens. There voice begins within the heart of their spirit. I feel these children have something to say. Support the arts in education.
