Hi friends! I have been volunteering at GTA's alumni class since 2014. I'm an instuctor for the "Make Your Decisons Count" class, which is a ten session afterschool course in financial literacy for low income high school students in Oakland.
The curriculum includes applications of some theoretical topics such as opportunity cost, trade-offs, sunk costs, best interest, and general frameworks for making financial decisions as well as more practical information on budgeting, the stock market, bank accounts, taxes, and the risks of services such as payday loans, credit cards, and rent-to-own.
Help me raise $500 for GTA by giving a small donation today! This money will go towards making sure that even more students get exposure to this important knowledge and are better equiped to tackle some of the difficult financial challenges in their futures. With your support, GTA will be ready to hit the ground running in 2016.
