BENEFITING: MICHAEL J FOX FOUNDATION FOR PARKINSONS RESEARCH
EVENT DATE: May 04, 2014
On May 4th, 2014 I will join 5,000 runners in the BMO Vancouver Marathon. As it is my first attempt at running 26.2 miles, I suspect I will be in great need of support...and motivation.
To that end, I am running this race for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Between now and May 4th, I need your help to raise $3000 for donation towards Parkinson's research!
Why Parkinson's, you ask? A few years ago my very dear friend lost her father to Parkinson's. Finding an answer to this disease is incredibly important to her and, by extension, to me.
I have chosen to donate the money I raise towards the Michael J. Fox Foundation because of their aggressive and enthusiastic approach: they keep patients at the heart of their research, and they are steadfast and committed to finding a cure. Their financial transparency is also something I value tremendously. You can read more about the organization, their goals, and their accomplishments here: https://www.michaeljfox.org/
Please help me in achieving my goal as a tribute to my friend's father and all those who, in way or another, suffer from Parkinson's. Any donation, however big or small, is greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance for your help and your support,
NOTE: While I am running for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, please note that I am not sponsored by the organization. The donation will be made to the Foundation as a one-time general donation towards research.
