I've had migraines since I was an adolescent. I grew up watching my mother be totally debilitated most her life until the "Golden Elixir" called Imitrex came into the market. By then, she was through THE worst of hers, as my Sister and I began our WORST days. Still, Triptans allowed me to hang in some tough days at work; while, others not so much. Also, having a coworker who had them really bad in a very small DENTAL practice made it tough when we both had them the same days. (She the Office Manager/Receptionist; me the Dental Hygienist) My true "Golden Elixir" has been Botox. My sister hadn't been able to have access to this yet; so, am hoping her situation changes so she CAN have better access to better tx. MY Husband, also, has them, too. My Mom's has become more frequent again, but no where near the severity of what she used to suffer. This is one of a couple of incurable chronic pain diseases with which I've been diagnosed in my almost 50 yrs. All of them, so little progress has been made, but there's a few more shakers with this disease. STILL NOT ENOUGH!!! WE NEED to keep shaking the ground HARDER. I would LOVE to see, unlike myself, Migraineurs that have to miss work NOT lose another job because of their CHRONIC DEBILITATING INVISIBLE DISABILITY in an office less than 25 people because the ADA laws do NOT cover THEM; FMLA do NOT extend to THEM should they need to go to a Migraine Clinic as an inpatient, Or because THEY'VE had surgery. THIS happened to me, as a single woman, employed by a woman. SO many things need to change. I wish I could give more and hopefully I can later. By sharing, I hope my family and fellow sufferers will fund this, if only $5-10.
