BENEFITING: RAINBOW FAMILY INC
EVENT DATE: Oct 26, 2013
One of today’s biggest human rights crises is the international trafficking of women and girls into sex slavery. According to the U.S. Department of State:
- 50,000 people are trafficked in the US annually.
- 51% of these people are forced into sexual exploitation.
- 28% of these people are women of Asian descent.
Trafficking affects virtually every country in the world. The largest number of victims come from Asia, with over 225,000 victims each year from Southeast Asia and over 150,000 from South Asia. These shocking numbers exists here in the United States, including Los Angeles being one of the largest hub for human trafficking.
Human trafficking is both a local and international epidemic. It is modern-day slavery.
Jonathan Home, a non-profit shelter for trafficked victims of Asian descent is making a difference and we depend on your support! In order to raise awareness in our Los Angeles community, and to assist victims of human trafficking, YNCC is hosting a charity fashion show on October 26, 2013 which will allow Jonathan Home to continue in their quest to help and heal those victims.
We invite you to join us in making this event a success by reaching our goal to raise $14,000. All the proceeds will go towards Jonathan Home, an extension of Rainbow Family Inc. – a non-profit organization 501C(3) designed to “help women and children with today’s life struggles”. Your assistance will help make a major difference in the lives of the people that we serve.
