BENEFITING: Pet Evacuation Team
A year ago I was notified Rudi (my dog) had been swept down a canal in Smith Rock State Park and was missing. At the time I was in San Francisco for business and Rick (Rudi's dad) had just gotten on the river for a 5 day river trip. Thankfully, with some help I got connected to the Redmond Pet Evacuation Team (P.E.T) Rudi is back with us today because of P.E.T. The P.E.T team notified authorities in the area and helped me knock on doors, search Smith Rock/Terrebonne, create and post lost dog flyers and get on the local news. Because of their dedication, resources, compassion and guidance Rudi is back home happy, healthy and again bringing joy to our life. This past weekend (July 9th) I was contacted by a woman whose dog (Rosa) was swept into the canal in the same spot as Rudi. Unfortunately, Rosa didn't make it but it was again P.E.T who went into action to help and now is taking steps to get Oregon Parks & Recreation and the Irrigation District to post and warn people of the hazard and dangers of this area. Just a few months ago a young man also fell into the canal but thankfully made it through and to safety. If you have a pet you love, a friend or family member who loves their pet and/or want to see a grass roots effort create change in the community please make a donation. All the funds raised will go to P.E.T and their efforts. Rudi, Rick and I thank you!!
