BENEFITING: International Rescue Committee - Dallas, TX
Throughout the past couple years, the world has been captivated by the refugee crisis emerging from the war in Syria. An air raid has hit a children's hospital in Syria's rebel-held east Aleppo, forcing medical staff to evacuate patients, including several newborn babies still in incubators. This was one of the only hospitals in the area exclusively for children. Only a few hospitals remain after being targeted by bombers. Every year, the International Rescue Committee teams up with US government to help up to 110,000 refugees a year resettle, find jobs and housing, and integrate into American life. We have the opportunity to help Syrian refugees in our own backyards. In Dallas, TX, about 1,200 new refugees and humanitarian migrants are aided per year. I encourage everyone to donate to the IRC, the International Rescue Committee, and other non-profit organizations in order to help aid new refugees in desperate need. You can also start a fundraiser through their organization websites to help too. Please donate! I have found a way to donate winter clothes to Syrian refugee families in Dallas, TX. I will be posting a contact and address to both myself (I will drop off clothing donations myself in person) and the direct site in Dallas accepting donations.
