I met Arya in late 2014. I remember being touched by this tremendous love radiating from her. When we met again in August 2015 she was in hospital receiving treatment for leukemia. This life threatening illness was exacerbated by an aggressive (flesh eating) fungal infection she contracted in the hospital.
Arya has endured over 11 surgeries to combat the infection: most recently an extremely painful and invasive surgery, which removed skin from her abdomen to graft onto the wound. She is about to start her 4th round of chemo and continue treatment for the infection.
The side effects of the antifungal drugs and the chemo have multiplied her visits to the hospital and she is barely able to hold down food and medications. Despite these dehumanizing experiences her love is still present and unwavering. I am humbled by the strength and courage of this little girl who continues to walk against all odds into her healing.
Arya’s mother has not left her side since her diagnosis and the financial, emotional, and physical fallout has been overwhelming. She is a single mother, unable to work, and it has been a continual battle to keep her head above water.
I invite you to open your heart and partake in the healing grace available to you through your generous contribution to this campaign. Your gifts will help with much needed resources to keep this family sustained during this tumultuous time.
I encourage you to share this fundraiser with everyone you know.
Sincerely and lovingly,
All of the funds raised through this Crowdrise campaign are 100% tax deductible and will directly support Arya Marie Chatterjee, and her mother, Jennifer. Proceeds will be donated to The Tyler Robinson Foundation (TRF), who will facilitate payment of Arya and her mothers living expenses (rent, utilities, phone and travel) as long as restricted funds allow. A financial advisor will assist in prioritizing debts and expenses and advise TRF and Jennifer for best allocation of resources.
TRF is a 501(c) 3 Utah-based organization founded by the Grammy award-winning band, Imagine Dragons and the Robinson family. Their mission is to strengthen families financially and emotionally as they cope with the tragedy of a pediatric cancer diagnosis by providing hope, information, and relief through financial services, caring volunteers, and monetary grants.
