What makes a great Memorial fundraiser?

The thing about memorial fundraisers are that they are so incredibly personal. The people heading up the campaigns have had an very close connection to the person they are honoring, and are expressing this connection through raising money on their behalf for something that they cared deeply about. It is a powerful tribute, and people who come across the memorial fundraisers are often profoundly moved by the campaign. So all we recommend is that you be sincere and honest about what the person meant to you - and explain why the cause meant so much to them - and we think that the fundraising will be very successful. And you will know that you did something to build upon the great legacy of the person that you lost.

Dear Friends, This campaign is created in loving memory of Matthew Maggio's mother, Donna  Derwin Maggio, who passed away last week after a lengthy bout with  Alzheimer's. We'd like to show our support to the Maggio Family during this difficult time and honor 'The Donna' by raising money for the Alzheimer's Association of South Carolina, Myrtle Beach. Big Ray, Matt, and Luke have been avid supporters of Alzheimer's Research  over the years and they would really appreciate our effort. If you could, please also share this campaign with others who are close to Matt and his family: https://www.crowdrise.com/in-memory-of-donna-maggio/ Thanks so much, -Brad About the Charity: Alzheimer's Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research. It is with the heaviest of hearts that we set up this Memorial to our incredible husband, brother, uncle and friend, Jim Rogers. Jim passed away on October 22, 2015 after a 7 year struggle with bladder cancer. He was so strong and fought this fight with such grace. Jim's courage, positive attitude and good humor throughout were so inspirational to all who knew and loved him. Jim's only wish at the end of his life was that a commemorative bench be set up in the park in his memory. He knew that the donations for the bench would go to help preserve and maintain the park which is in the heart of Brooklyn. Prospect Park serves as a cultural and natural haven in the city and provides free concerts, recreation and refuge to all in this urban, multicultural area. Your donations will allow Jim's family to honor his lovely and...
