What makes a great Sports fundraiser?

The beauty of sports fundraisers is that there has been a lot of groundwork laid. CrowdRise has deep partnerships with many of the top marathons in the country (NYC, Boston, Pittsburgh, Chicago, etc) and is the official fundraising platform for both Tough Mudder and Ironman events. So if you’re interested in raising money around events like these, it is very plug-and-play (or, in this case, plug-and-raise-lots-of-money). And in addition to managing campaigns around these larger, more established athletic events, we have some really creative and innovative fundraisers by users who have organized their own golf tournaments, charity softball games and much more all to raise money for causes near and dear to their hearts. As with all fundraisers, we encourage people to be creative and have fun with their campaigns (and check out our Explore Causes page to get ideas of who you want to fundraise for), as other people will feed off of that energy, ultimately raising more money for the organizations and people that need it the most.

Examples of Sports Fundraisers

In 2016, every single TCS New York City marathoner, supporter and volunteer can unite to contribute towards the goal of raising funds for charities across the world.   Historically, the marathon has raised a massive amount of money for charity, and our goal is to bring the entire running community together. When you run 26.2 miles for a charity, you'll cross the finish line for yourself, but for so many that will benefit from your fundraising.   New York Road Runners and CrowdRise encourage you, and every single runner, to support a meaningful cause. So this year, don’t just run for yourself; run for research, run for a cause, run for a cure and run to make the world a better and healthier place for all. Starting a CrowdRise fundraiser does not guarantee you a slot in the 2016 TCS New York City Marathon. If you need a guaranteed entry, you must contact the charity before setting up a fundraising page. You can also start a charity page on CrowdRise if you are not an official charity, but you will not...

The Boston Marathon connects eight Massachusetts cities and towns…and the entire world in the spirit of competition, camaraderie and community. It brings everyday athletes, many of whom are connected to extraordinary causes, to the same road as elite, world-class athletes. Together, inspired by the strength and courage of the individuals they run with, and run for, these athletes embody the power of the human spirit. Help these athletes push forward on the road ahead by helping support one or more of the many great causes represented in the 2016 Boston Marathon.  #RunBold
