BENEFITING: THE TRIAD HEALTH PROJECT
EVENT DATE: Mar 23, 2011
Dear Friends and Family,
We are participating this year in the Youth Leadership Greensboro Program. As part of our participation, we have to complete a project that in some way provides service to the community. We have chosen Higher Ground, which is part of Triad Health Project. Higher Ground is an adopted communal retreat and resource center for persons infected or in any way affected by HIV/AIDS. Located in a picturesque neighborhood near downtown Greensboro, Higher Ground offers hot, nutritious, family-style lunches three days a week along with support groups; educational programs; a counseling site; traditional and alternative therapies; artistic, spiritual, and therapeutic workshops; and recreational activities.
With the effects of the economy over the last several years, this non-profit organization, like most, has suffered in terms of decreased donations. We would like to help them financially in purchasing of food and supplies. We also plan to spend the day cooking a meal for the people who come there. Any money we raise not used for the meal will be donated Higher Ground to purchase paint so that they can repaint, and gardening supplies so we can aid them in improving the grounds.
Each member of my team has been asked to reach out to family and friends for donations for this cause. We would greatly appreciate anything that you can donate to us. Our goal is to raise $500. Almost 2000 people in Guilford County are currently living with HIV/AIDS. As you can see, the potential for this organization is tremendous and they need our help.
If you are interested in helping us with this important mission, please take a few minutes to donate.Thank you for anything that you can do to help.
