The Reparations Labor Union seeks $25 million in voluntary reparations during President Barack Obama's term in office. This amount of money will be used to privately fund H.R. 40, the bill Detroit (Michigan) Congressman John Conyers has introduced into the House Judiciary Committee ever since 1989. Private funding permits President Obama to authorize the study of reparations via an executive order. Furthermore, private funding provides the seed money with which to raise more money for voluntary reparations through a National Jubilee Lottery.
Although private individuals are welcome to the $25 million, the Reparations Labor Union will seek donations from corporations that profited off of the enslavement and plundering of Africans, particularly those corporations that received federal bailouts or other corporate welfare approved by politicians elected by black constituents and financed by black taxpayers.
